UCSB last night really hurt!
I got rejected (3.7 gpa, 1430 SAT, lots of extracurriculars and leadership) but my portal says yes.umass.edu. Anyone else have this as well?
It’s possible. I applied CS major and that’s around 20% acceptance rate this year, I think.
Yes, my sons said that too and he was rejected
That’s normal.
I applied as a chemistry major, which I didn’t think was too competitive but alas
I can imagine. Hope things work out for you guys.
Are you waiting for any other schools?
ok thank you! kinda strange though UMass was definitely a target
I applied for POLITICAL SCIENCE but guess not. kind of hurt by this one
My son was just rejected as well. 4.5 (out of 5) GPA, 1450 SAT (790 math), 5AP’s, 3 varsity sports. I’m pretty surprised, but oh well.
Waiting on 3 more UCs but no hope there
Rejected with a 3.7 out of 4 GPA, No SAT, Varsity Sports, DECA and other clubs.
Very Shocking results tbh
I had the same thing
Hey all don’t worry too much if you got rejected. This year was incredibly weird in terms of the sheer amount of people applying, and sometimes state schools like this reject you if you’re too good (to protect their yield).
i rly hate the way they roll out their decisions
decisions were so bad this year. I know people with <3.3s and minimal ecs who were accepted and then people with >3.6s and an extensive resume who were rejected.
It’s not a fair process but nothing we can do
good luck to everyone on all their other upcoming decisions
yeah unfortunately, decisions were pretty difficult for a lot of people this year. I mean even though it wasn’t the decision I expected, I still have some great options and I can always transfer if I still want to attend umass.
I got in a month ago and I could’ve sworn I was rejected from commonwealth honors. Didn’t really care too much, but I randomly checked my decision letter again just now and it says I was accepted? Is it even possible that it changed or did I probably just not realize lol
yeah apparently there was a error made by them with the honors decision
