UMass Amherst Class of 2025 — Decision Release Date: By Mar 31

Yes, I’ve been accepted to a different university I intend to commit to.
I spent an enormous amount of time writing around 20 college essays. I still want to know what my decisions are, but it’s very low pressure for me.

I feel horrible for all the people whose first choice is UMass and have been waiting for a month.

To be fair, lives hang in the balance of these decisions. Can’t blame anyone for being anxious.

the umass admissions instagram mentioned that they are releasing a batch this week but the date is not finalized.

I’m sorry to hear about the waitlist decisions today. Hopefully other students who are not truly interested in attending UMASS will pull their applications or decline offers at this point & this can speed up the process to start pulling from the waitlist.

Yes, like 30 mins ago. Am probably going to withdraw as UMASS is not my first choice

I’m sorry to hear. Good luck to you!

i’m so sorry, that’s the worst. was today like a set day for waitlists?

Son picked different school than umass even with merit scholarship at umass. His seat will help out someone on waitlist in CS

Do universities send more offers than seats?

Based on admission data from previous years, they should know approximately how many students will decline/accept their offers.

Thank you! I wish the best for your son/daughter as well.

Thank you. My son is till waiting. I think he will be the very last.

The UMass accepted student yield ratio has been increasing each of the past few years. I can say that Two Years ago in my daughters dorm (pretty much all the dorms), there was so much housing demand they had to build Temporary suites in the study and rec. spaces to accommodate.
Then after that overcrowding year, they went from accepting about 57% to 63% of applicants.
Maybe they had a good reason I don’t know.
So yes I think they accept more students (lately) than necessary to be safe, in case of a low yield. Good luck , my Daughter was one of the last acceptance batches and the waiting was rough and was her First choice school.
