Hello, I received my room information today as I am an incoming freshman. I am not the happiest about where I am and I was hoping for a single room. So now I want to know if I have any chance of getting a single room in the August change process. I was also wondering what chance I might have switching to a single in the first week or two as more dorms can open up to freshman such as sylvan if they have open spaces. Any input would help, thanks.
Just out of curiosity, did you state that you wanted a single in the room preference thing they had you fill out at the summer NSO? Anyways, as for your chances, I would say slim to none. Singles are highly sought after (except for the tiny singles in the low rises in SW). Having someone willing to give it up is extremely rare. Also, Sylvan has no singles to my knowledge, they all use suite style living.
