UMBC Nursing--Transfer from UMD?

ANY INPUT IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
I am a Nursing major, rising HS senior, and will apply to UMD. I want to reach people who can tell me about transferring from UMD to UMBC and applying to the Nursing major there. Is this done often? Is it easy to do (or is the process living hell)? Did you find that all credits, etc. transferred as expected?
Anything unexpected, or that you wish you had known?
THANK YOU :)

Just realized that University of Maryland Baltimore County is not what I meant…I meant transferring from UMD to UMSON.

Hello Kenobeanie,

Neither the University of Maryland-College Park (UMD)nor the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) does not have a nursing major program. However,UMBC have a Pre-Nursing program where they can help you to transfer the University of Maryland-Baltimore City’s School of Nursing (This is in the Baltimore, MD area. NOT College Park, MD). I know people from UMBC who have done this program. You take all of your courses that would be required to receive a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Nursing at UMBC. All of those courses would be automatically transferable to the University of Maryland’s School of Nursing. You spend 2 years at UMBC and spend your remaining years at UM-SON.

Here is information about the program at UMBC: [Advising : Pre-Nursing](http://www.umbc.edu/advising/AlliedHealth/nursing_path.html)

I suggest you try applying to UMBC and the local community colleges to transfer to UM-SON.
