UMD College Park class of 2022 EA discussion

Tara - let coalition keep reloading. It took 15 minutes for me to open on the college page on the app

Ok so it should show Decision letter under check list?

@TaraGmez I thought the same thing. The decision is there if you got the email. The problem is it’s not loading and you are backing out too fast. Open the coalition, go to colleges, then WAIT. S had to wait 25 minutes for it to load. It;s there.

Ok thank you!

@TaraGmez, if you don’t see the new button under checklist, click on the checklist button. You can also access the decision letter button on the checklist page. It should also show the unpaid enrollment fee of $400 at the top of the checklist page so you know you are in. If that is not there call on Monday.

Does anyone know if all of the honors/scholars program decisions are already made, or is it possible to receive that news later on?

Or trying logging in from your cell phone. I was easily able to get in from my phone when I was not able to get in from my laptop.

Rooting for you Tara and others. Congrats to those who were admitted or had a D or S admitted, and as others have said, it is hard to read about the disappointments, and my hopes for other good fits are with those kids and families. Our D ended up being admitted to honors (Letters and Sciences, undecided major) from OOS (Upper Midwest), 33 ACT (34 if superscored assuming they round up from 33.5), 3.99 uw GPA (school does not weight), IB Diploma candidate (full IB schedule as junior and senior) and several AP and honors classes in frosh and soph years, varsity athlete, and a good music EC. Excited and grateful.

@JY1424 @flyboy1968 @FcFCFC and others. There is NO stigma to Freshman Connection. You stay in dorms mixed with FC and non FC students. No one even knows. You do get an orientation with a sleepover option. My friend just finished her first semester with a 4.0 and many of the non-FC are not even close to that GPA. All it means is that you were a little short on one thing, but it wasn’t enough for UMD to say no. It’s not a big deal, and if you swallow your pride you’ll find out it was nothing and will be happy if UMD is where you really want to go. You move in the same day, you make friends, you have classes, it’s all transparent. Yes, it’s a little tricky with club hours, but when you are getting used to school, joining a ton of clubs your first semester was not a big deal. Some clubs even have weekend hours. By the Spring you are out of FC and you can rush and take morning classes just like everyone else.

@2018collegeappl - If it says “letters and sciences” and not bio, it means you did not get into bio, but they are putting you in letters and sciences to work towards a transfer to bio.

Accepted into Spring 2019. UW GPA 3.64. ACT 31 superscore. 4 AP’s and mostly honors classes. 3 sport varsity athlete and many academic extracurriculars.

I hope I can still get some merit

DS accepted into engineering!! OoS, 1410 SAT, 3.7 UW GPA, very few but strong long-term commitment ECs.
We opened the decision together and recorded the experience for prosperity!

Still no email or decision box. Had everything submitted on time. Confused

D accepted in Scholars, as I asked in other thread, her Major has * at the end - any idea what * means?

Still nothing just keeps churning very frustrating!

When I hit checklist it says No Decision response submitted? Does that mean she hasn’t accepted or declined?

sb1974, the * denotes the major is a LEP (Limited Enrollment Program). It just means the major has limited space, but your D got in.

Hi All!

I’ve been following this board closely, although, until now, have not participated. Congrats to all who received and offer

Is anybody familiar with the Persian & Arabic Flagship at UMD? Could use some clarification on a letter D received.
Thanks!
