UMD - College Park Class of 2025 Regular Decision

No, if you told them to evaluate with your test scores they would push application to reg decision if they didn’t have them

No I didn’t. I didn’t realize that such a confirmation email existed…

Are you kidding me

Thank you for applying to the University of Maryland!

My sons scores were not showing up so he emailed his AO to be sure they had them or show proof he sent them. Maryland has always been sticklers of everything being in by 11/1

I didn’t receive that. I’m screwed dude. Calling them on monday but i’m sure there’s nothing they’re gonna do.

My daughter submitted test scores in December and they received it Jan 1. She got an email on Jan 8th that said “We’re excited you applied to UMD for Fall 2021 by our early action deadline”. It also said by Feb 1 you will get your decision.

She has yet to get the decision

I’m guessing if she submitted test scores late, that’s why she hasn’t gotten a decision. I submitted my SAT 11/30 b/c I didn’t realize they required official reports, and I have not gotten a decision either :grimacing:

Bottom line at this point is my daughter got an email that said “by Feb 1” and it is not Feb 1 yet. I know everyone here likes to look at the past, but clearly if there ever was a year that there could be a deviation from the past, it is this year. I personally am expecting a decision by Feb 1 as the email said.

My son submitted scores in first week of December and got that email but no decision. UMD is very strict with their deadlines apparently. My son emailed the most senior admission administrator whether he can still be eligible for EA and was told NO!

Yes, our college counselor told us many times to make sure those scores were in on time before we said to evaluate his test scores. They hammered it home with them as in the past students got pushed to RD by it.

@ [toothmolar]

Let me get this straight. You got an email that said "We’re excited you’ve applied to the University of Maryland for Fall 2021 by our early action deadline. " and “Once admissions decisions are available (by February 1, 2021) you will be able to view details in your TAP account.” and you don’t believe it? Why would they send such an email?

All of the universities my son applied to, he was able to self report his scores except the Maryland schools. Regardless, we should not have missed it! Should have applied test optional!

Yes, we got that email. I am thinking it is a glitch in their system. Trust me, I would love to find a way to get my son admitted in EA.

My guess is that email was automated for all of those who applied coalition/common app for their early action deadline. At the end of the day, it’s the fault of the applicant for not adhering to deadlines (me included). The college process is overwhelming, and mistakes are bound to happen. We can hope for Feb 1, but March is very soon, and the decision will come.

Does anyone know if you are offered Spring 2022 admission instead of Fall 2021 that means you will not be eligible for any merit aid?

With all due respect, I trust the the email I got from UMD over speculation on a web board.

Totally agree. At he end of the day, as I told my son, ultimately we are at fault!

On Social Media - Maryland has announced that decision were posted. They didn’t say some decisions were posted.

Ok. Thanks for the data point. On Twitter, many have replied that they didn’t get a decision yet. I haven’t read all the replies here. Has anyone here who submitted everything by Nov 1 not get a decision yet?
