@Hippobirdy and all, thanks again for those who are trying to help us that do not have a decision yet. I really appreciate you being resourceful and trying to help.

My daughter got a Dean’s Scholarship and she wasn’t in the Honors College or Scholars.

Does anyone know about the Hinman CEO LLC and how does it compare with Carillon Community?
Can one ask for a switch in LLCs? My kiddo was invited for Carillon but says he likes Hinman CEO better.

I don’t think the Hinman CEO program is open to incoming freshman. The program has a course prerequisite -ENES 140 - that must be taken before you enter the program. Would probably be worth sending an email to the program contact to confirm.

Thank you.

We were denied. 3.6UW, 4.2W, 29 ACT, IB student, OOS, lots of leadership EC’s

when did u get your decision?

Friday night

ok. I hope you have better options. good luck

Also denied. In state. 3.7uw/4.2w. 1330 Sat. Thankfully he had already received acceptance at his top two choices, and UMD wasn’t a desired landing spot. (I’m an alum, as are his grandparents, so he felt compelled to apply.)

those who dint hear their decisions yet, any update after follow up? We called today as well, it was the same answer as yesterday - decision will be given in 5-7 business days, as they said it was a mistake on their side. driving me crazy
I hope they wont make us wait until RD :frowning:

Yes, this was her first rejection. She has plenty of options. Just surprised.

Thank you for the help! I did this and got a response that since one of my daughter’s transcripts wasn’t received until Nov 2 there was a slight delay. They said she should receive a decision in her portal in 5-7 business days. Better than not hearing until RD!

Same here. D22 took a few “College in High School” courses. So while the courses were taught in HS and show on her transcript, she also has a transcript at at least two colleges (maybe 3). She listed those as “other schools attended” on the Common App but never sent those transcripts to anyone. It hasn’t been an issue anywhere. This seems quite inconsistent.

we heard today(an hr back). Its our first rejection. Needless to say, we are very very disappointed. I have a strong feeling that all the EA pool (well majority of them) is already taken when the results were announced on friday) The rest of the decisions (for unlucky applicants like us - where everything was alright- they admitted that it was their fault for not reviewing S22’s application) they will give a decision in 5-7 days as they tell on the phone, but it will be from the remaining seats they have allocated for the RD pool (which very very low) and the chances are almost zero unless you have a superb/compelling application (which even surpasses the IVY league standards).

Any experienced parents here, is it a good idea to appeal. Pls suggest.
TIA

So sorry for this debacle you’ve had to try and navigate through, and now the rejection. Keep your chin up

@banoobmom I’m sorry that is the news.

@banoobmom I actually did hear firsthand a couple of years back about students who were accepted EA, even though UMD messed up and didn’t review their applications on time. The students were from the same high school and applied through the My Coalition App. My Coalition was notorious for having glitches. The applications were sent on time but somehow got stuck in cyberspace and were not visible on UMD’s end. When decisions went out to everyone else, the college guidance counselor intervened on their behalf. Decisions were sent out in 5-7 business days, as promised.

@mdmamma1707, I do agree that they delivered the decision as promised within 5-7 business days, but, most of the seats have already been taken by the (EA) applicant pool with a very few left :frowning:
