Umd transfer June 1st deadline chances?! Please help

Hello! Any help will be appreciated.
I just finished my freshmen year at towson. I applied at the regular date because I wanted those 30 credits so they didn't have to look at my SAT scores. My freshmen gpa ended up to be 3.46. Is that good or no?! I had some EC activities and I worked really hard on my essay(I think it's great). So I was wondering my chances for getting admitted?! I know we're suppose to hear back by early July?!

hey there! You know, I’m honestly not very familiar with transfer expectations for June 1st applicants but I really wouldn’t bet on anything. I have a 4.0, would be transferring into sophomore year and absolutely expect to be rejected simply because the vast majority of the spots were already given up. I do think they tend to like 3.5+ GPA but things change every year. Don’t mean to totally crush your dreams or anything…Just trying to be honest. Fingers crossed for both of us!!!

@name44 @sfgirl101 did you hear back?

@hofstra not yet! :frowning: did you apply this round as well? any news?

I’m waiting to hear back too… I had a 3.69 GPA at Hood College and a 4.0 at my local community college (I was there for just one semester) and applied May 27th.

Hey! I applied to UMD as well as a transfer at the regular deadline of June 1st because I also wanted to apply with 32 hours of college credit and a complete GPA which ended up being a 3.45. I currently attend Pace University in Manhattan NYC as a communications major. I am dying to get out of the city even though I love it and get the real college experience and have a campus and all that. I had my professor from this year write a recommendation and submitted my resume of all the extracurricular activities I do and jobs I have had. I am hoping to get into the Philip Merrill College of Journalism as a Broadcast Journalism major which I know is a difficult program. I was accepted to Syracuse Universities Arts and Sciences college and not the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications when I was applying to transfer this fall. I hope UMD gets back to us soon…If they get back to me by the end of the month (30 days after I submitted my app like the website says) I will only have 3 more days to accept or deny Syracuse. I also applied to the journalism school at Temple University and Florida State which I have not heard back from either.
