Curious - with the record number of applications and seems a good deal of deferrals…how does this affect ED2 round? Do they go for top kids with super high stats? Does ED2 still offer a boost for reach students?
ED2 should provide a signifcant boost in chances since U of Miami draws a ton of application but the yield has been still hovering slightly below 20 %, ED-2 accepted students are 100 % commited so likely to be an important tool for the admissions office.
ED2 likely a method to tap those students/parents that are willing give up any merit aid opportunity.
Really 20% - thought it went up last year?
I was wondering if it was different this year due to the large increase in apps as well as the over enrollment they didn’t expect last year.
Also, they are offering deferred applicants to switch to ED2 - wonder if a lot switch to ED2.
so looks like acceptance rate should be around 26% this year

Congrats!! My daughter also received a nice Financial Aid Package (Scholarships and Grants) totaling approximately $240,000/4yr.
D22 accepted with 22K merit and nice overall FA package. But it’s probably still not doable 3.9UW/4.5W GPA, 32ACT
I think we are at $208-$210 absolutely no financial need and not counting the loans because we wouldn’t take any. It’s hard to believe that a package like that may not end up being a good deal. If she advances to National Merit finalist and gets into the top 2 Florida schools (UF or FSU) then she could go for full COA because they are public. We have such great options here. Hopefully she will have options to choose from. Congrats to your student.
Can someone please post a screen shot of what their acceptance letter said re # of applicants, # accepted, etc.? Thanks!!

Thank you and congrats to your amazing daughter. We will not be taking on any loans either. My daughter is waiting on in-state Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering decision and Aid package before we move further. The options are pretty good at this point. Again, congratulations.
Accepted to Frost. Do not see any financial info yet. When we visited, they said to expect Frost merit scholarship announcements in – March?
As a current Freshman at UM, I just wanted to hop on here and say congratulations to all the new admits!!! Coming to UM was easily one of the best decisions of my life, and I am truly so happy here. Go 'Canes!!!

I’d love to hear from the Frost applicants. My daughter was deferred from Frost. She applied for Music Scoring and Production.
Her twin sister (non musical- not Frost) was accepted today.
Both girls are in the top 10% of their class and submitted their 1400 SAT score. 10-11 AP classes. Unweighted GPA 3.9. Weighted for admitted daughter is 6.5, weighted for Deferred Frost daughter is 6.2.
Admitted daughter works a part time job and has played competitive tennis for 7 years which takes up the remainder of her time. My Frost daughter has been involved in voice, musical theater and piano for several years and she also is a composer.
Great in state options for her as well, best of luck!
