My daughter also applied to Frost for Music Industry (MIND) and was deferred. Similar profile as yours. Voice, guitar, in a band, but also Irish dances and plays lacrosse competitively. Wonder if since Frost program is small, they are waiting to see who applies RD to fill the non-ED spots?
S22 was accepted but how to find out if he received a merit scholarship or not … He has similar stats as your D22.
OOS
1490 SAT, 3.86 UW, 4.76 W, APs, also all other Honors classes
I missed the letter at the bottom I am seeing that he also received a $25K Presidents Scholarship very grateful. Still awaiting other merit scholarships
Good luck with that! After visiting I can assure you my family and I are confident this is where I want to be. Submitting my ED2 form tomorrow
My daughter also was deferred from Frost. Try not to worry too much. Frost is very transparent; they state on their website that they historically defer the majority of EA applicants. It’s frustrating for sure but at least we know it is typical. My daughter applied to the Music Scoring and Production program, classical voice as her instrument.
Are those who got deferred submitting mid-year transcripts? Not sure what to do, class rank went down maybe 1%, weighted GPA went up .1, core the same, and unweighted down .1 Not sure if to submit midyear transcripts for continued interest and the slight increase in Weighted GPA if class rank and unweighted went down slightly.
Very proud of my grandson who received the Singer Scholarship (full tuition for 4 years). Hoping he likes the campus visit so can weigh his options. Good luck to those waiting a final decision.
So I’ve called admissions so many times I’ve lost count. No answer. I’ve been on hold so long each time that I’m wondering how many minutes of my life I’ll never get back.
I’ve sent emails to separate addresses provided by the undergraduate office for current students. (No one I spoke to could connect me to a live admissions person or provide me with another phone number.)
I’ve received no response to my emails.
I’m more than a little concerned and frustrated with a university where it’s IMPOSSIBLE to get a hold of a person or to get someone to respond to messages. Am I the only one having this problem?
Hi, my daughter recently got an email to schedule an appointment for admitted students. did you get such an email? maybe schedule one to get your questions answered? ack!!
Admissions office got back to us promptly about scheduling a self guided tour of the campus.
Any idea when the admitted students will get notifications about Premier Scholarships that we applied in EA ?
Nope! That’s exactly what I’ve been trying to do! No one responds to my emails or answers the phone. Ugh.
My son got his premier scholarship decision together with the decision letter last Friday.
@OP_MOD - Congrats to your son.
Did he receive it via email or what is next to the decision letter attached as Financial aid?
How do you request they download your latest transcript? We had the high school send a mid year transcript last week via School Links but it doesn’t show they downloaded it.
Yes, 32 ACT, Deferred
my daughter did as well on Jan.28th there was a letter of congrats and a letter of you received the singer scholarship.
My son also applied for media scoring and production (RD) and is auditioning next week. They did not give any information about an interview for Media Scoring and Production… just information about his instrumental audition. Do you recall if they spend any time on MS & P on audition day? Thank you and good luck to you daughter!
No email on the financial award. Everything is in the portal - scholarship decision letter, financial aid at the bottom of the Decision letter.
Our applicant missed cut off for EA (and almost for Frost altogether!) So is in RD pool. If fortunate enough to get in, would that mean no merit?
