UMiami or BU or Geneseo (or Syrcause)?!?! Dire need of advice!

So i'm really stuck between these 3-4 schools. I'm already prioritized University of Miami, Boston University, and Geneseo, but Syracuse is giving me quite a handful of money so I'm also considering that too. I would be grateful if someone gave me some input on this! Thank you!

I want to go to the school that will **maximize my chances in getting into Medical school (one where I will enjoy in for the next 4 years) with the least amount of loss (financially)! Thank you to anyone who is reading this and giving advice! =] *

---------------------[Reading for clarity only?]------------------------

Here's some info for clarity: I'm planning to take pre-med courses and apply for medical school and I also live in NYC.

University of Miami:
I like this school because it has a very nice campus, but more on it's academics and pre-med program. It is probably the strongest and most competitive of all the other schools I've listed and the tuition is probably going to be cheaper than BU's. However it is far and that is my major concern. It's co-ops and other internships will probably be located IN Miami and I do want to come home as much as possible. [Waitlisted but guaranteed admissions for Spring so I'm unsure about the financial aid I am receiving]

Boston U:
I received a very minimum amount of financial aid: only $5K - $6K a year so I will be paying/loaning $50K - $51K a year. I visited the school, it's big, pretty, full of life, I like Boston and it's a well-known school. They also have A LOT of co-op opportunities and internships [since it is in Boston!] However, unless it is really worth it I don't think I want to pay that much money >.<

*Geneseo: *
If it wasn't for the tuition, I would choose BU over Geneseo, however Geneseo is one of the best SUNYs I've seen. It is [although] the exact opposite of BU. It is very small, minimum partying, and its surrounding environment is very bare (A 2-block town). Not that I dislike it but I feel as if there would be nothing to do. Because it is small, it'll also limit opportunities and internship. [Waitlisted but guaranteed admissions for Spring so I'm unsure about the financial aid I am receiving]

Syracuse:
I'm considering this school b/c I received around $27k scholarships so I will end up paying/loaning $26k a year. Although it's academics isn't too far off from Geneseo, I believe BU and Miami's pre-med program are much better. It's just in terms of tuition atm.

So in the end, I'm really unsure on where to go... since they all have their pros and cons =T

Since you were waitlisted/offered spring semester at two of these choices, I would go for the lowest cost school for the fall, decide where you"might" go in the spring…and deposit in both…

Start fall and see if you like the school you are already at(many do) and then decide…

It was my understanding that UMiami spring admits are without FA but you should clarify…

Personally, for pre-med, it is all about GPA and MCATS…the lowest cost school will save you $$ for grad/med school…

“paying/loaning $26k a year”

There’s a gigantic difference between paying and loaning. How much of each?

^^hanna: it was my understanding that the OP received 50% of COA in FA with a balance of $26,000 to pay outright or borrow…

Right, but are the OP’s parents going to pay that $26k or not? OP borrowing it is nuts; allowing the parents to spend money they have is not nuts.

Agreed…

Hey guys! Thank you so much for replying!
@Rodney, thanks for the opinion!
@Hanna, sorry for being unclear. Of the $26k, $6.5K is loans from the government, the rest is scholarship.
