Which one would you choose if u were accepted to both Cornell and UMich honors. The major is in engineering btw.... probably double electrical/mechanical engineering. I am most interested in the quality of education, rather than social life or athletics.

Michigan Engineering does not have honors. Honors is primarily applicable to the college of Literature, Science and the Arts.

But in terms of quality of Engineering education, they are practically identical. Both are huge (Michigan has 5,000 undergrad Engineers to Cornell's 3,000) and research oriented and both are ranked very high. Employers flock to both campuses looking for Engineering talent. I would go to the one you feel fits your needs best.

I couldn't have said it better.

ok thx for all ure replies... relli appreciate :D

yes i think quality of education truly matters; however so does social life. Its good to be focused, but its also good to take breaks. Personally I would choose UMich Honors over Cornell, because UMich has the athletics and the social life. On top of that it consistently ranks in the top 10 in almost all of the grad schools (med, law, business...). Thats just my 2 cents

Most people I have talked to say that UMich engineering is on par with Cornell engineering.
