I want to choose between
- UMICH LSA HONORS IN CS
- UCLA ENGG CS
pl help me… lsa cs or engg cs
I want to choose between
Is there a financial element we should know about?
If one of the two schools is significantly cheaper…and cost a concern, then obviously go for the more affordable option.
If cost is not a concern, I would go with fit. Is there a school you prefer? Academically and professionally, I do not think there is a difference in quality between those two.
At Michigan, you can easily switch from LSA to the CoE if you wish. It will not alter your career options as you will have access to the same career events and job interviews on campus, but your electives and graduation requirements will vary accordingly.
Thnk u. I am international so same cost for both. Just wanted to know if engg degree has more weightage than lsa degree in CS
I am sure others here can give you better advice. There are many Engineering/CS majors who post frequently. I am sure they will give you great advice.
That being said, switching to the CoE is fairly easy. Most of the prerequisite classes for Engineering are offered in LSA anyway, so you can complete your prerequisites without any restrictions and then switch after your first year. As long as your GPA is 2.7 or better, the switch should be seamless.

I would take UMichigan. LSA honors is one if the top honors colleges in the US, at one of the top American universities.
I do get the lure of UCLA though
These two are roughly equal in CS.

These are grad school rankings, but the undergrad departments share the same faculty and similar resources.
If you’re from Michigan, go to UMich. If you’re from California, go to UCLA because of tuition.
If you’re out-of-state for both, then Go with personal fit.
Can any body tell hiw to declare CS in LA HONORS. I am rt nw undeclared in Lsa
