Umich Math Placement Exam?!?!?

can you ignore their recommendations if you are a transfer student?

you can ignore the results of your placement test whether you are a “normal” student or transfer.

it’s just supposed to give you some indication as to what course they believe is most appropriate for you, but you ultimately make the decision for what course you want to take.

Do you have to know how to convert between degrees and radians for trig questions?

This is a two year old thread, AngelaChappell. This person is probably very much done with the exam, haha.

I took it and thought it was pretty tough. I could have kicked myself because I haven’t taken pre cal in nearly 2 years and forgot everything. I got an A in calc at Auburn University (I am a transfer student) and as an English major, I never have to take math again. So, I’m not to torn up about it. I would tell you to review though!

What does the test cover? I know it covers Precalc but a lot of schools have different Precalc programs. I know it’s going to cover Functions and Trig. But what about sequences, series, combinatorics, conic sections, analytic geometry, polar coordinates, etc.
