UMICH or USC (Cali)?!

I'm deciding between UMich and USC, and need some more up-to-date help making my decision. I was admitted to UM for LSA undergrad but want to join the Ross school, and I was admitted to USC for spring admission to the Marshall school. I intend to pursue business post-college, but want some reactions on the college-experience, academics/prestige and anything that I may want to know.

Also: Im currently leaning towards UM but the cold weather and even more monstrous size seems to be a bit concerning to a newcomer, plus USC's weather seems a bit awesome

Go to Michigan!!! (Though I’m extremely biased because I live in Michigan and my high school feed there)
But if I am thinking logically I might say go to USC so you can do well enough to stand out and get into Ross easier. I know someone who turned down Stanford to go to UMich to do something like that. Then again, if you go to UMich, they might pick people already there for first spots into Ross.
In the end I say UMich, because (again) I’m biased and because it could possible help you be better known to go to Ross, plus you would have already had experience on the campus.

Good luck! (Also I’m a freshman in high school so you probably don’t want my advice I know nothing lol)

I don’t know which is better for you. They’re pretty close, with a slight edge to Umich. Pretty nice choices you have there. What are the costs of each to you?

USC does have an awesome mentoring program in the business school. I’d consider the total out of pocket cost for each and how you and your family will pay for that. Since you wish to go to grad school and try to save some resources for that as well (though SOME employers MAY help you get a grad degree, with strings).

Have you visited each school and set in some classes? Congrats on your great options!

D is in Marshall Schl right now. Loves it. Also exposure to international students and more diversity than UM. Also no issues with state budget cuts as it is a private

Were you accepted to Ross or you still have to apply to Ross?

Must apply after freshman year. wondering also if Marshall school is worth it, since there’s no garuntee I get into Ross

If cost is the same or not of concern, go with the sure thing USC, they can’t be that different.

Also, after you entered USC found that accounting is better suited for you Leventhal School of Accounting is a super alternative.

“If cost is the same or not of concern, go with the sure thing USC, they can’t be that different.”

Ross is a target/semi-target . It’s just a better recruited school.

OP, have you toured both schools? You should do that before making a decision. Ground-zero LA is not for everyone.

I am going to tour both soon, but am also curious about how the academics at each compare?

And does the weather at umich seem to put a damper on the year/nightlife?

Undergraduates at UMich love it. Weather doesn’t seem to be a factor for most of the students and alums I’ve talked to.
