<p>It can be anything but it should be something that you identify with and that gives the admissions reader an idea of who you are. Think about some of your values and a community or a group that was influential in shapings these values and perhaps tie your values into something that U-M should be looking for in its student body. Admissions committees are not looking just for good students but students who can bring something that will enhance the education of the other students.</p>
