I want to apply EA for UMich, but the deadline is fast approaching and I’ve been so busy. So my question is, are the supplemental essays for UMich weighted very high in their admissions process?
I am in the same boat. Start the essays now, and work hard on them. If you can’t submit EA, then just edit those essays later. What are your stats, and for which college at U of M.
Those are important figures. Plus, if you are applying to such a prestigious college, then each and every applicant will have great act scores and GPAs. So the essays are meant to distinguish between excellent applicants.

Don’t rush in your essay as it cannot be changed once submitted. With your GPA and test score, you do need a good essay to help your chance.
are my scores subpar? i thought they were at or above their standards?
I am in the same situation!
And have the same stats, but am applying to college of engineering.
@jaymam Your GPA is below admission average while ACT is right above average (SAT is below average). So you are not really standing out from other OOS applicants. Considering the 20% OOS admission rate, you do need a good essay to help.
Make sure you and your school have already submitted your test scores, recommendations, transcripts etc. UMich needs them all there before Nov1 to be considered for early admission. LSA OOS admit rate is around 20%, CoE is closer to 15% so your essays need to be really good. Make sure your essays talk about you so the adcom can get to know you.
Well on naviance (shows stats of kids accepted to UMich from my school) my scores are good
Note that the Naviance data is from the past years, while the OOS admission rate has dropped from.40%+ to 20% within the last few years.
