Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I believe I was accepted because I was a strong applicant from a very unknown high school in the rural area of CT. Most kids from CT come from the well off Farfield County therefore I feel Michigan saw me as someone who was a good candidate but didn’t have all the resources the kids in Fairfield had.

Accepted: Drexel, UConn, Maryland, Michigan, Purdue, Boston University
Waitlisted: Brown
Rejected: Harvard, UPenn, Yale, Duke, WUSTL, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, Rice
[B]General Comments (if any):*
It’s been a full year since I’ve been on this website because I wanted to give myself time before I posted this. All the schools I have listed here would have been great to go and truly fit who I was which is why I applied to so many. You only apply to college once and want to have choices which why my parents encouraged me to send out so many applications. Because even with all the rejections I still had acceptances from six top university. Choosing Michigan over UConn wasn’t easy but I know in the end it was the right choice because of the extra edge Michigan has in terms of nextworking and academics. Michigan Engineering classes are difficult and my high school was the not the greatest at preparing me for a school like Michigan. I costed throughout high school and through almost two semesters here I can see that I need to change my habits and seriously learn how to study and comprehend material. Looking at my stats and credentials at the surface may have people, even myself at times questions how I got into such a great university. I believe everything happens for a reason and that Michigan truly wouldn’t accept a student they don’t feel could Handle the workload. It’s intense here and classes are struggling and I have struggled a lot this year. I just got my exam grade back from a test and got my second startight 66 out of 100 (no curve for this class) I’m not devastated I just realize that I have to put in the work to master the material. Whatever college you attend whether it be Michigan or somewhere else you will struggle. But the struggles and challenges you have as individual at college will only strengthen your character and increase your hunger and drive to do more. I know this is long but I just feel the need to say that everything happens for a reason and there is a reason the school you got denied from denied you and why you got waitlisted and accepted. There’s a path ahead of you. You can either follow the path of those in front of you or create a new path. You may not know how to make your own path and may even sturgggle but once you reach the end result your rewards will feel so satisyfying that others will want to celebrate with you
