Ummm..HELP?

So, my goal is to accepted by Brown Uni. Pretty big goal, I know.
My finals start tomorrow. I am gonna do the best I can - obviously. But the panic monster inside me just wants to know…
This is to the brown applicants, accepted students.
Y’all generally have what grade on your transcript? Like, an A- of course. But has Brown accepted people with one B+ or B-?
Wondering…?

(Not a Brown applicant, but this goes for any top-tier school.) The majority of accepted applicants have either a 4.0 UW GPA or very close to one; that being said, there are plenty of applicants with 4.0’s that don’t get in, and every year there are some applicants around the 3.5 range that do. One B shouldn’t majorly hurt you, but it all depends on your level of course rigor and extracurriculars, whether you have a hook (URM, first generation, etc), and whether that B is in a class that is your intended major. It’s a crapshoot and there’s no way to determine exactly whose grades are good enough and whose aren’t because there are so many factors, but if most or all of the things above are up to par, you should have as decent a chance as most of the other people applying.

(Also, what grade are you in? B’s earlier in HS followed by A’s, indicating an upward trend, definitely look different than B’s later in HS.)

Best of luck on your finals
