Hey all, I recently got accepted into the Biological sciences college and the University of Minnesota and I’m wondering if anyone knows their acceptance rate. I found something earlier that said it’s around 20-30 percent but that was almost 8 years ago. Does anyone know the recent acceptance rate? Just wondering! Thanks!
Their latest annual report says 590 freshmen from a pool of 7,610 applicants for Class of 2021. Just a guess here but that’s probably about a 26% admit rate with a 30% yield.
Carlson actually reported a 29% admit rate and a 30% yield for the same period in their annual report. CBS is more competitive than Carlson so the admit rate should be a bit lower. Overall UMN had a 30% yield according to College Navigator, so a 30% yield estimate for CBS would be consistent with both Carlson and overall. Then it’s just a matter of backing into the admit rate.
Perhaps the same calculations can be made once the annual reports are updated to Class of 2022 numbers.
Thanks for the help!
Congrats!
