As high as possible if you want any $$$.

Hey, hows the applied econ program? I very am interested in that major as well.

I was just asking for a ACT score that would get me admitted.

So so EC because I had to watch my brother while my parents worked

Doesn’t UMN base decision grades solely on grades?

^They give consideration to extracurriculars, but it’s not as important as in other schools.

For the ACT, aim for a 29+ because that’s right around the 75th percentile for ACT scores of previously admitted students.

aim for a 30 or so…you have a very good chance…

Thanks. Wow a 29+ ACT score will be my main priority for the coming months.

Will being instate help a little. Taking the ACT in the spring, hopefully, getting a 27-28
ACT in spring

Since your gpa is so high, getting an average act will still get you accepted. Instate definitely helps you get accepted. I think a third of the students are out of state, so being in state gives you an edge. Where do you live in Minnesota? If it is outside of the twin cities they factor that too. Overall, you do not have to worry about getting accepted into either of those colleges with your stats. Even if you get a lower than average act, your gpa will probably over set it. Good luck!

I think you are in a very strong position. Do what you can with the ACT. Did you take the PSAT?

Minnesota’s economics department is exceptionally strong. I’m not so sure about this applied econ program… what’s the draw?

I didn’t take the PSAT because I missed the deadline. Yea, I was worried that my chances of admission weren’t as great as I would hope it would be. U of M is definitely my first choice as it has the size, cost, and location that I am looking for.

Ro jeremmed77- I live about 30 mins outside of the Twin Cities.

I like the Political Science program more and I am not as strong in math, therefore, economics is out of my list. Applied Economic seems like another way for me to enjoy econ and business combined. I’ll probably apply as a Poly Sci major.

like 27 ish…
