How long does it usually take for them to get back to you?
@aimlesswriter there is no average time frame because they begin with the strongest application and work from there. One thing we all know is that Dec. 15th is the final deadline for submitting your application and materials so it’s nothing but decisions from then on.
I got denied this morning from the college of Education and Human Development.
@sdsupride I’m sorry. What were your stats and stuff?
@sdsupride were you hoping to be a freshman or transfer student?
@aimlesswriter Thanks!!! It’s fine because I was expecting it. My GPA is a 3.17 and a 23 Act score. All honors classes and a couple college classes. Lots of extracurricular activities. I figured I might get waitlisted. My Act score fit the 25% range for CEHD.
@sdsupride is that GPA of 3.17 weighted or unweighted?
@JBStillFlying2 Unweighted
@sdsupride - based on what you’ve posted, this doesn’t sound right for a couple of reasons. Has anyone else been dinged? This seems really early, although given the changes in the priority deadline, perhaps they are moving up rejections and waitlists. Also, your stats don’t seem out of line for CEHD and you say you’ve taken honors and AP courses. Either something very specific disqualified you (you didn’t satisfy the college prep course requirement, or Junior year was a disaster academically, or your ACT score isn’t from a single sitting but is a superscore which they actually don’t do, or something else very definite) or . . . this is a mistake.
A couple of suggestions: 1) call them and get more input into why you were rejected. 2) how are your senior grades so far? Because if they have improved you can submit them as part of an appeal.
If you pursue this, please do keep us informed!
Have the majority of applicants received a decision yet? I am still waiting…
@JBStillFlying I agree with you. My Act score is from a single sitting. I had a good writing score too. My GPA did drop a little Junior year because I took very hard classes and some of them didn’t count in my GPA because they were dual-enrollment courses. I contacted them and they said they would call me tomorrow.
good news @sdsupride keep us posted and good luck! :-c
Can you guys chance me? I don’t know when I’ll get my decision. Here are my stats:

@GladiatorInASuit which college at UMN did you apply to?
Has anyone started a Honors forum yet?
@JBStillFlying @JBStillFlying2 When did your daughter end up finding out? The last sentence of mine just got cut off too.
@lollypolly13 my D17 was admitted in October. Hopefully that sentence cut-off thing means good news for you!
Hi everyone! I applied at the very end of October.
I was accepted to the College of Liberal Arts . I also just received an acceptance to the Honors Program. Now I just have to get into the theater program (aaah).
GPA 4.16 W/3.9 UW
School doesn’t rank
SAT 2190 (one sitting)
I took all the AP’s that my school offers (only four)
I’m also a National Merit Commended student.
I go to a public arts high school in a large city on the east coast.
EC’s: My school doesn’t have any clubs or sports, but I spend over three hours a day in theater classes. I’m in NHS. I also do shows outside of school, and have a receptionist job.
How and when are we notified of scholarships on the Application Tracker?
Congrats @Isaroo. Scholarship notification is by regular mail only and everyone offered merit aid should be notified by March (and hopefully it will also be included in the FA letter).
I applied July 5th and am still waiting for a decision
