Hi,
I just got an email from Pitt saying they were unable to offer me admission to SSOE, but are reviewing my application for Dietrich.
What does this mean and why weren’t they able to offer me admission?
I applied on February 3rd.

I posted my stats here:

It means that you were not accepted by the Engineering school, but they are still considering your application for Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences, so you do still have the possibility of getting accepted to Pitt.
Edited to add that I just looked at your other thread. I think your stats were fine, but I think you applied to late.
@me29034 oh okay, I was scared that I got flat-out rejected, especially since I got deferred from UVa’s engineering.
I think if you would’ve applied earlier you would’ve received admission.
Why so late? I’m bummed for you!!
You applied past the priority deadline and by the time hey got to your application, all spots in the college of engineering had been filled.
Where else did you apply?
Does anyone know if you can appeal - ask to be wait listed for SSOE? I agree your stats are not the issue - it’s when you applied when they began accepting people in Sept - that’s what put you at a disadvantage - because Pitt does rolling.
@carachel2 I know haha, I should’ve applied earlier. I applied late because I was too focused on trying to get my deadline apps done on time
@amandakayak I’m going to try calling the admissions office to request that. Thanks for the suggestion!
@MYOS1634 I’ve gotten into GMU and ODU so far with a deferral from UVa Engineering.
I’m still waiting on:
William and Mary
UPenn
UMich
VCU
Cornell
Northwestern
UVA (since I got deferred EA)
Johns Hopkins
