Does anyone know colleges that put more emphasis on SAT scores rather than grades? I know a lot of schools that focus more on GPA but it's hard to find the reverse. My son has a 2250 on his SAT's with a B- average. He does attend one of the most competitive and well known public schools in the country. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is his class rank good? If so, that GPA should be fine if it shows that most good students there have those grades. :]

^^^ I agree with that. But if the rank isn't as good and it's apparent that the B- average is due to a lack of effort in school, you can be sure that selective colleges will take that into account. The bottom line is that good grades can make up for mediocre test scores, but good test scores hardly make up for mediocre grades. This is the case, at least, if he plans to apply to an Ivy League school or a college of similar selectivity.
