UNC Chapel Hill EA Applicants 2018

I remember someone saying that they were waitlisted, cant remember where though.

@head2college2018 amd severage - I know they definitely defer some early action applicants.

Also, do you know how/when they notify people about scholarship day?

anybody actually know when the decisions come out? i’m not exactly trying to find out randomly and then panic hahaha

UNC Admissions Tweets say that the EA decisions will be announced by the end of January, but will not commit to an exact date.

@closetohome1: based on your information and from looking at past year’s decision threads, I would say that you are on the borderline for acceptance. Your unweighted GPA will certainly hurt you, your SAT I score is probably only slightly about average for out-of-state students, and your SAT II scores are not extraordinary. Hopefully your community service and sports are enough to put you over the edge. It may simply come down to luck.

@collegebound1000: thanks for the chance! yeah ik my gpa isnt very strong but im hoping my course rigor and upward trend help it look better as a whole. As for my SATII’s, I took MathIIc in October but was told by an admissions rep over the phone not to bother sending it since it would not come back in time and they make “little to no difference in admissions”. I ended up getting a 650…not sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing they told me not to send it

@annazee13 yes it’s a community college, my school isn’t very competitive and its pretty sad, there’s only a handful of us attending four year universities

@awkwardlife same with my school! I completely understand.

Hello! I’m an out of state student applying for early admission, so I was wondering if you guys could chance me.

What are my chances?

To the three previous posters wanting to be chanced. OOS is very tough and your grades/scores have to be almost ivy quality. E216 has the best chance due in part to legacy mom. I asked the legacy question at the visit and the answer was a parent legacy will get you"off the bubble."

What are my chances?

Hey guys, can we avoid spamming the thread with chances? Thanks

Isn’t part of this thread’s purpose to talk about chances?
It helps to discuss with other people (who aren’t biased) about your chances.
It’s not spamming when, until we get our decisions, it’s basically all there is to talk about.

@CarolinaGirl2018
I agree with copticbishoy as well as alot of the members on this thread that don’t want the discussion part to be filled with chances. I don’t wanna offend anyone and call it spam because that would not be true. But I believe that if you would like to get “chanced,” please create another thread under the College Chances or in the UNC main forum because it would be easier and you would get more people to notice and focus on you and only your chancing rather than have to “share” with others. That is just my opinion and my advice. If there is nothing else to talk about, then so be it. I am sure something will come along, it always does.

We really can’t chance OOS students anyway… It’s so unpredictable. In state is more “chance-able”

Carolinagirl has already asked to be chanced in this thread like three times now anyway
