What are decision days?

@matrixsurgeon I would agree with you except for the caveat that UNC, on their blog, stated they would send out scholarship day invitations ‘soon’ and would send honors carolina early next week. in my mind, why the discrepancy? to me, i would think that this means that scholarship day invitations will indeed be sent out today, while honors carolina etc. will be sent out next week.

Got Decision and Explore. Fingers crossed for a Scholarship Day invite. Anyone get any?
@annazee13 decision days are just a day on campus with a student to learn more about the school

@rafanadal
Your observations bring up a good point. I hope it is today but based on what we have seen of UNC lately and the fact that office is pretty much closed (or closing) at the moment, it is hard to believe that those emails will be sent out today. If they were already sent out, I am sure we would have heard already because I am sure at-least one of the recipients would have been a CC member.

P.S. I am also sad (like you probably are) about Nadal’s loss. It was his to loose but the injury was the worst of it…He is my favorite tennis player and would like to see him crowned as the best when he steps away from the game.

Deferred OOS. Kind of bummed, seeing as Chapel Hill is no stranger to my school and accepts at least a handful each year, but congratulations to everyone else!

@matrixsurgeon Could not agree with you more about both UNC Scholarship Day Invitations and Rafa Nadal!

Just invited to Explore… nevertheless, I’m just happy to be admitted to UNC!

so…this might be a stupid question but…the major i go accepted with is not on their complete list of majors, can someone explain this to me? im so confused…

Do you guys feel that any of the group invites are better than the others? It sounds like Explore is to convince you to attend the school so maybe they sent that to the better students. Or maybe I’m over thinking this idk

I think Explore is for everyone…

Congratulations!
I was hoping to receive the email too, but oh well…

To everyone talking about Decision Days/Explore Carolina/Carolina First, I believe that Decision Days is for people who have not attended a tour or a previous recruiting event (ex: Carolina 101, Academic Days) on campus, Explore Carolina is the general event and Carolina First is for first generation college students. I am not first generation and I have attended a tour and previous recruiting event and I was only invited to Explore Carolina.

Congrats!! That is a big accomplishment! I did not get the invite myself but to be honest I am not surprised.

GOT ACCEPTED OUT OF STATE! I was literally in the airport about to be on my way to Chapel Hill to visit when I found out. I am shocked that I got in considering I only have a 2020 SAT and 29 ACT.

I got invitations to both Scholarship Day and Honors Carolina in the mail/email today, as well as Explore Carolina. They were in a large envelope that I thought was my acceptance, but just contained the invitations.

Deferred in-state. Parents are pretty upset. But good luck to everyone else with deferrals and congrats to everyone who’s been admitted

I got in, probably one of the most defining points in my life. I hope to see all you future students at the school in july for Summer Bridge.

To those that were invited to Scholarship Days, are you instate or out of state? Is there any chance that the emails could be coming in masses at different times? Thanks
