Darn, I got selected for verification. I would use the DRT, but no matter what I tried, they said that the information didn’t match their records. (And yes, I copied verbatim from the tax returns)

I requested a tax transcript to be sent to me - hopefully it’ll arrive in time.

I tried use the DRT but it only says the tax info is not ready yet. and for the rmtax transcript, it says no record found… guess i will need to wait …

I really appreciate everyone who is so helpful on here! I will be visiting Chapel Hill next month to see where I’m going.

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks and good luck to RD and everyone applying next year.

Depends on your definition of middle class. UNC Chapel Hill claims to meet full need. However they do use the CSS Profile to determine your need.

check out Carolina Covenant page, if your family income falls in some certain federal guideline they will meet 100%of your need but i think you have to do work study 10 ~ 12 hrs weekly

Congrats matrix!
I got an email saying I’m a finalist for the Chancellor’s Science Scholars program, so I have to do an interview before selection.
I was wondering if anyone knows whether I would be considered for the other opportunities (I put Honors Carolina as my second choice) if I didn’t make it into CSS. It would suck if I ended up with none of them.

^From my experience (I’m a Chancellor’s Science Scholar/Carolina Scholar), you actually can wind up with multiple programs from Excel@Carolina. I got Honors, CSS, Carolina Research Scholars (which is actually a really stupid option), and Assured Admit to Kenan-Flagler.

Nope. CSS came out like mid-March I think, Assured Admissions for KF was early April, CRSP I don’t remember, and Honors had two waves–one a few days after Scholarship Day (when I got it) and one that was a little later.

got a question for yall… if im not able to go for those official campus tours they offered (like Explore Carolina), can i still just go visit the school with my parents by ourselves? i have never visited a school ever before.we are going to be in raleigh durham area in march 13th. thank you in advance. :)

okay thank you so much! i was wondering if i can just tour the campus myself with out actually signing up for one? because we are not sure what time will we be on campus that day
