Has anyone used their choice essay from the common app and what did you put for essay you are answering (part a from above)?

bump......

hmm, interesting question...i'd like to know as well

Bump

anyone know?

My D graduated in 2008 and used the common ap for many of her applications. She chose the personal essay option #6 - "Topic of your Choice" and wrote an essay of approx. 600 words. This is the essay that she used for her UNC application long essay response.

On her paper she simply put as her heading "Prompt - " and proceeded to write out the prompt she had created for her common ap essay. Nowhere did she indicate what college or application she had used this essay for. D went on the assumption that when UNC asked "What essay are you answering?", they just wanted to know what question she was responding to. It was easy - she told them.

Following the "Prompt", she wrote a short (70 word) paragraph on why she chose to submit this particular essay (the response to Part B), then centered (and in bold) the title of her essay and cut & paste.

She was accepted to UNC as an OOS student.

Thank youuu :)

I'm applying to UNC myself. This is very helpful. Thank You
