UNC Chapel Hill or NC State for an undergrad in Chemistry?

I'm not sure which school I should pick. I've heard both are really great. But I've also heard different things from different people...

Comparing the two schools as a whole, UNC is viewed as more prestigious and has a better “name brand” than NC State does nationally, in most respects (there are several notable exceptions, such as engineering). NC State is still a great school, though. The key is, don’t worry about what anyone else thinks. Go visit each school and see where you feel like you fit in the best. You can’t really go wrong with either one.

have you been admitted to both?

a little early–or late!–for that, MYOS  Fit and affordability, OP, should be your more important considerations. You can take chemistry anywhere and get into any med school or grad program or job in the U.S. Having said that, UNC-CH is generally thought to be superior in chemistry largely because its graduate program is so well thought of in chem depts across the nation.

At this point, the only reason I would see for having to pick between both would be if one has been admitted…
If not, OP should apply to both and see where s/he gets in and where costs are the most affordable or where they’re the best value.
