Just wanted to say that the people who are talking about letters are NOT lying. I have posted in this thread a few times before so I may be a familiar face.
I got a letter today as well informing me I was invited to scholarship day. I am an OOS applicant, so this may have something to do with it. Technically it wasn’t an “offer of admission” though!
The point is, we don’t know when admissions will come out but the people who have spoken of the letter are honest.

@Collagepls That’s awesome, congratulations! And yes, y’all, I’m also thinking OOS students who say they got a letter are being truthful. The only ones who are probably lying are the people who said UNC called them or something outlandish. Congrats to all my OOS friends and sorry for anything we (especially I) said in doubts of your honesty. Y’all are so lucky to get in, and I wish the best for each of you!
@phillysportsfan HA HA you got me there. I know I’m ridiculous, but I wasn’t looking for an exact time, but I just wanted to know if I should take a break from my job at four to check or if I should go at a more general time around 4:15 so I don’t get fired for any emotional breakdowns that may happen from logging on to Connect Carolina.
@mademade I wouldn’t expect it at a particular time, judging from past years. They aren’t Ticketmaster. They’ll post it when they iron out the technical details and when they get around to it. Besides, their web servers will be bombarded with connect requests so it will probably be some time before you get lucky and can connect. I wouldn’t plan anything around this, particularly since there is no information as to when it will happen.

I won’t reveal too much in the interest of some privacy, but I can say that my SAT was 2320, I was in the top 5 of a class of 700, and I had some very leadership oriented extracurriculars.
For whatever reason, decisions have gone live in previous years on the hour of multiples of 3 (9, 12, 3, 6, etc.). They didn’t come at 3 so maybe at 6.
I think tonight is the night for you guys. UNC requested extra documents from me yesterday, and sent me an email today saying since these documents are still being reviewed, the earliest I can recieve my decision is 5pm tomorrow. If I still have stuff being reviewed and tomorrow is the earliest I can hear, I figure everyone else will hear today.
I can believe calls can go out as well as letters. The students invited to the Scholarship day are UNC’s most sought after students. Giving advance notice is just a great way to make someone feel special and sought after. There is unfortunately a pecking order even in institutions that try to be fair.
I am very sorry to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I can appreciate that this decision is not the one you had hoped for, and I very much regret having to deliver it.
