UNC, NYU, Northwestern, Duke, UVA, Wake Forest, Vandy, and Boston University

I’m going into senior year of high school and am a Florida resident. Basically looking at all out of state schools because I don’t want to live here anymore (sorry) and I feel that even though UF is an amazing school, I can go to a school that isn’t the same as 90% percent of my graduating class. That said, here are m stats:
UW GPA: 3.95
W GPA: 5.10 (as of May junior year)
SAT (superscored): 1450
SAT (I got the same overall score both times): 1390
ACT: 31, but I’m retaking to raise it to hopefully a 33
I took 3 SAT IIs but didn’t do good AT ALL: Bio M: 710, US History: 690, and Math 2: 570
I told you they were bad…
I’m in the IB program, meaning I have only one non IB class (dance junior year and AP Photo senior year)
We get 3 HLs and 3 SLs:
HLs are Bio, Art, and English
SLs are Spanish, Pre-Calc, and AP US History/Psychology
I’ve taken 4 AP exams, with 3 4s and a 5, and will take 4 more this year.
I’m ranked 22/455
I volunteer teaching a class designed for Parkinson’s patients, to fight progression and actually improve mobility/fine motor skills.
I also teach a dance class for 4th and 5th graders every Thursday
I will graduate with over 200 volunteer hours
I’m in NHS, NSHS (science), NAHS (art), NEHS (english), Model UN, Republican Club, and a lab-based science club that I’m an officer of.
I’ve danced ballet for 13 years, was given a Superior title at a state competition for my solo, and a Superior title at district for both a dance ensemble and a solo (if you know anything about the Florida Band Association)
I won an art competition in February, and feel strongly that I will get either a 6 or 7 in IB Art
You get the point. What would you say my chances are for UNC, NYU, Northwestern and Duke (my reach), UVA, Vandy, Wake, and BU? Thanks in advance!

I would say low match/safety for Wake Forest and UVA, match for BU, UNC, and NYU, and a low reach for Vanderbilt and Northwestern. Duke is a reach for just about anyone; it’s a crap shoot at this point but you obviously are a very solid, well-rounded applicant. Good luck!

UNC (OOS): reach - your SAT is on the high side of average for them, but OOS acceptance rate was only 15% in 2016
NYU: match
Northwestern: reach
Duke: reach
UVA (OOS): reach - similar to UNC, UVA is much more competitive for out of state applicants
Vanderbilt: reach
Wake Forest: match
Boston University: match

You’re a good candidate, but make sure you have a safety you love! None of these schools are true safeties. If you don’t want to pick an in-state school as your safety, look for a less selective school that gives merit, where your stats put you considerably above the 75%.

Thanks so much! UF and WVU are my safeties. Every person in my family ever has gone to WVU, and I’m a much stronger candidate than many of them were, so I think I can get a scholarship. UF is not easy by any means, but pretty much every IB student in my school goes there so I think I can get in there as well. Thanks again!

Thank you so much!
