<p>No, I’m a junior. And yeah which stinks because there are a lot of OOS students who are well qualified who don’t get in. Any idea why universities like UNC and UVA favor in-state over out of state?</p>
<p>^ As an OSS I can assure you that UNC students here are very welcoming and friendly. There is absolutely nothing to worry about. I was blown away by how friendly people are here! It’s one of things I love most about this school.</p>
<p>That’s what I meant–that it was a little easier for OOS to get into UVA than UNC–not that UNC wasn’t really friendly! LOL Mine is applying to both, but we live in VA and know UNC is a longshot, even with her credentials. Neighbor’s child did not get in and both her parents graduated from Chapel Hill, as did numerous aunts and uncles, parents have always donated to Chapel Hill and while I don’t know the student’s exact grades I know she was very bright and did end up pre-med at Va Tech. Was a real disappointment to their family, though, when she didn’t get in</p>
