So, I'm a non-likely-letter person with SAT's that around all of the people who I've seen get a likely letter. Bummer. Why does UNC send these out?! It's torture... Comfort me? What are your stats?

I didn’t get a letter, and I’m in-state with a 2250 and 4.25 gpa. although, it could be because my unweighted gpa is 3.5…

Either way, it definitely does not mean we won’t get in. Don’t worry.

They send “non-likely letters”?

I’m OOS and UNC is definitely a reach- at least from what I have seen on this board
31 ACT
3.7 UW 3.84 W (W/ 7th semester, GPA is low due to personal problems sophomore year discussed in my essay)
Awesome EC’s/Recs etc

haha. no. i just didn’t get one. if i got a “you’re not likely to get in” letter (which i wouldnt cuz they dont exist), then i would cry.

haha a non-likely letter? that’s insane i would be mortified. i didn’t get a letter and i’m applying, UNC was a last-minute choice for me, i can’t even remember how i came across it but when i did i loved the school.

Such as small percentage of applicants receive a likely letter I am not concerned about not getting one.

The waiting is what bothers me. I hope I get either accepted or rejected, anything but deferred.

hardly anyone even GOT a LL. This is College Confidential, of course it’ll be a bit stressful, but think of the THOUSANDS of applications and the THOUSAND or so kids in each class. you can’t expect them to send that many out.

with all due respect, guys, there’s nothing we can do now. I know it’s stressful - i dream about it sometimes - but let’s just be productive. Kick someone’s butt in Madden, study for those midterms, or just relax. Stressing out will only make the wait seem longer.

On another note, I don’t know what “stats” even have to do with it. Obviously, the 2400 kid may receive one, but i think overall it goes to the impressive applicants who have done all this extra stuff. A girl at my school, val with a 2330, didn’t get it. Neither did I, and I’m a 2130 3.75er with a job on the school board and a couple national organizations. OoS is always a crapshoot, and the volume of applications is so big that for us to stress over one letter is just a waste of time.

I mean no disrespect, I just don’t want us all to be more stressed than we already am. Peace and love to all

The way I see it -it’s fate. It’s the impressive applicants whose applications they have already reviewed. If they haven’t gotten to your one application out of the thousands that they get, you couldn’t have gotten a likely letter! Besides, it’s all out of our control now.

wow. y’all are very comforting. have any of you been watching the posts on the unc blog? they’re so funny. it’s like jersey shore meets chapel hill. so funny.

and even you, madden person, thanks. my friends keep telling me that “if it’s meant to be, it’ll happen” but it’s so hard to watch that stupid notification date get pushed back further and further…

and midterms. psh. My school doesn’t do them, luckily…

This wait is killing me. I’m not as idealistic and fatalistic as you guys.

If I don’t make it that signifies to me that I wasn’t qualified enough.

Oh well, good luck to all.

Instead of stressing out about these ever-changing dates, we should all just sit back, relax, and enjoy the wonderful time of year that is Carolina Basketball!

Amen ruterbom (: My favorite time of the yearrrr!

haha. agreed. clemson game anybody? except half the team is hurt. well not half… but seriously! ginyards been out for like four games now…

on the bright side, the wears arent hurt and the wear twins are the bomb.

Ginyard played versus VT

Yeah the Wears are great, still having trouble telling them apart though, but depending on how long Harrison Barnes stays, I think we’ve got a pretty good shot in 2011-12…which would be perfect because we might all be students by that time.

The only way i can tell them apart is that travis looks kind of stern, while david looks a little more laid back. i cant wait to be able to watch the game in the student secton. =)

I’m going to the State-Carolina game in a few weeks at the RBC Center, hollaaaa. I cannot even waiitttt, this is always one of my favorite games of the year!

yeah. id love to be able to say i watched the game sunday, but i didnt cuz i was working on my extended essay for ib. i was in a pretty ****y mood. haha. i tell them apart cuz
- they’re numbers are in alphabetical order
- david plays more
- davids better at three pointers and travis is better at lay-ups and what not (learned that one from the sports announcers. haha)
- and you’re right. travis seems more serious.
hahaha…

I love how we are so into UNC we can even tell identical twins apart. lol

bahaha. thank you college confidential for bleeping out my sentence? i didn’t even curse. hahahaha. so great.

have yall seen videos of the 2014 recruits. a-maz-ing. like honestly. and hey, if we get in, we have (potentially) 2 whole years of zeller left! whoot whoot.
