I know UCR isn't on par with tufts and rutgers, but its better than nebraska and its part of the best university system in the world. I think they may factor in state/out of state for transfers.
I applied to the school necessary to apply for kenan-flager

i am out of state. i was accepted for the college of arts and sciences, i guess i should have included that

If your college offers Pass/Fail (ie that does not affect your GPA), I would petition to get that F changed. Check your options with your student records office, they may offer some type of academic renewal since you took the class over and got an A.

I was accepted to UNC Chapel Hill from a California cc. GPA: 3.8, (related) work experience, good essays, and some okay EC's (btw, don't worry about your HS record if you have any blemishes - my was riddled with F's from a misguided youth).

Don't sweat it. It's really pretty easy to transfer in. Send in letters of recommendation from your profs. It's not stated in the app procedures, but they WILL consider them if you send them.

Good luck.

Thanks so much for the helpful words. As of now because I retook the class the A is factored in to my GPA not the F. However, the course will still show up twice on my transcripts showing that I probably didn't do so well the first time. By the time I graduate in the spring I should also have a 3.8. My EC's are generic- work part time, some volunteer work, PTK, and some animal rescue work. I will definitely send some letters of recommendation, and my HS record isn't awful maybe one F, but certainly not great. Again thanks so much I truly appreciate it. UNC is my dream school was just curious if I stood a cold chance in H-E double hockey sticks. Thanks again.

...bump...

Would this be competitive?
