Failed to mention, I’d apply Early Action

  1. First Gen can be a minor hook. The other two are not 'hooks'.
  2. How can you have a 3.9UW with 'rough' grades in Year 9? How "substantial" can any improvement be from Grade 9 to 10? Also, anytime a student is arguing extenuating circumstances the GC should do it, not the student.
  3. What is your school like that a 10th grader is president of 3 clubs, including SGA?!
  4. Having 2 non-academic LoRs is usually not a great plan- especially if you do not have a serious, legitimate, direct working experience with the "President of a Fortune 500 company" that is meaningfully different from the Chamber of Commerce LoR. From here it looks like you have a family friend with a big title who is happy to write you a letter as a favor- something that doesn't impress AOs.
  5. Admission rate for OOS is 15% (b/c of the cap on OOS students). You have to really stand out- there needs to be meat behind your bullet points.
  6. Among other things, UNC requires 4 years/units of English. If you are planning to graduate a year early make sure you have the 4th English.
  1. Noted. I’ll talk to my GC about it. I missed tons of school last year because of a medical condition, which is well documented.
  2. It’s a very small school in Rural Alabama. Football is the only thing it seems like anyone cares about so it’s relatively easy to hold those titles.
  3. I did an internship last summer with him.

Thank you!
