Where are these colleges in comparison to each other overall?
Also, where are these colleges in comparison to each other for business?
Thanks

Also, how would ECU, APP state, and WCU compare to these?
Overall:
UNC
NCSU
UNCW/App State
UNCA
UNCC/UNCG
ECU/WCU
It’s about the same for business, just put UNCW and App State on an about even keel with NCSU. ECU and WCU easily rank at the bottom of both lists.
@Orca I wouldn’t rule out ECU if you are looking to major in business, their business school is well ranked, (obviously is it not Kenan-Flagler) but it has been around for a long time and is a strong part of the University. Don’t let high schooler’s views that ECU is just a party school turn you away, ECU is a favorite in the eastern part of the state and they pull many of the top HS graduates. It is a big school with much to offer.
I agree with the ranks in #2. Now it’ll depend on our stats and budget.
@ITBgirl they pull in many of the top HS graduates?? Nah, respectfully, I don’t necessarily think that’s the case. Only 51% of freshmen had a 3.75+ GPA, and 7% had below a 3.0. The middle 50% SAT was between 1410-1650. Retention rate is only 81%, grad rate is only 61%. The business school isn’t as good as the others listed, and the only possible reason it could be a favorite is because it has football. Many other college students hold the same “party school” view as well. The Honors College may well be pretty good, and it has a couple of respectable programs, but it’s below-average overall.
The original poster can look at online stats and numbers on his own. I was trying to offer some perspective (in another thread) as someone who has visited all the above mentioned schools, and knows dozens of graduates, current students and some faculty at each of them.
I don’t think anyone should choose a school just based on stats. I believe the OP plans to apply to many of these schools and then narrow it down after the acceptances come roll in. I was simply suggesting he also look at ECU.
Also, I stand by my statement that ECU pulls many top students, especially from eastern NC, trust me I have met them. If you just look at numbers, then based on retention and grad rate ECU scores better than UNCC and UNCG.
