I’m an admitted early decision student. I got 4 A’s and an A- first semester, which were the best grades I’ve ever gotten. But this semester it looks like I might get 4 B’s and 1 A. Is this grounds for revocation of my acceptance?

Doubtful. I think revocation of acceptance would require MUCH lower grades than that.

What about a C? 81 in AP Calc right now D:

I don’t even think a C would cause them to revoke admissions. Maybe D’s and F’s… but I REALLY don’t think a C would.

Well, not that it’s Brown, but I know for a fact that U o M will consider rescinding your admissions if you receive 3 or more Cs your senior year, or any Ds, Es, or Fs. It’s not an Ivy League, but I think the same stands for most schools: Once they admit you, it takes a lot to change their minds.

Good luck with AP Calc.

I’ve spoken with an admissions rep from a selective PA school and she said that when a student turns in their final transcript and notices a BIG drop in grades, then the red flags come into action.

From what I know, as long as you keep within your range of what you normally achieve in high school, you should be fine (please I can’t stress this enough - this is only my opinion).

Now, if you were a straight A student and get all D’s during the final marking period - then the school could rescind the offer or at the very least ask you to take a summer term to prove that you could handle the academics.

Enjoy your senior year, but be responsible at the same time!

I had to miss a bunch of classes for ski races this semester and my senioritis told me it was okay not to make up my math work. So yes, Brown08 that is very good advice :)
