Hi, I'll be a senior in high school this year and I intend on studying Applied Mathematics in college. I am wondering which colleges have the best undergraduate applied math programs. On my list, I'm currently considering UC Berkeley, Harvard, Yale, NYU, UChicago, UMich, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Brown, and Columbia.
Am I missing any important ones?

Also, do the University of Washington at St. Louis, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, have good undergraduate applied math programs?

Northwestern has a pretty good (supposedly one of the leading ones in the world, according to their website) applied math program within their engineering school. Because it’s in the engineering school, it’s focus and orientation are different from ones commonly found within a math department.

It may depend on what you want to apply math to (e.g. computer science, physics, engineering, economics, finance, etc.). Schools with strengths in the subjects you want to apply math to may be of additional interest.

Hey girl! I’m interested in applied math as well. I have looked at Harvard’s applied math as well as MIT’s and CMU’s. I highly suggest looking into MIT if you haven’t already and doing more research about CMU’s specific program tracks. They have 6 to choose from! UMich also has a strong program from what I know. Best of luck!
