Undergraduate Business Schools in the North East

I am currently a junior in high school. My GPA is about 3.4 and my SAt is around 1900 but i want to get it up. I want to major in business at a college somewhere in the northeast. What are my options?

Pennsylvania State University- University Park is a great option for your stats. Smeal is a phenomenal undergrad b-school.

Boston College (Reach)
Boston University (Match)
Northeastern (High Match)
Penn State
Marist (Match)
Fordham (Match)

Babson
Bentley
Clark

Any AACSB school, including Wharton or Cornell Dyson, the only Ivy undergrad business schools. They stand out. But they are reaches.

And if you do “get it up”, these may be other options–

Villanova, Lehigh (reach), Bucknell (reach), several SUNY’s, BU, BC, etc.

Agree with lots of prior suggestions: Villanova, Bucknell, Babson, Bentley, possibly BU. BC definite reach but something to work towards. Also suggest Fairfield and Fordham. A lot depends on what type of school you’re looking for (urban/suburban/rural and size) and what state you’re from for flagships.

It is difficult to judge a 3.4 out of context w/o knowing the OP’s school’s profile, but my initial instinct is that a lot of the suggested schools would be reaches. Bentley, Fordham and Loyola Maryland (Sellinger School of Business) should be achievable, but BC, BU, NEU, Lehigh, Bucknell & Villanova strike me as reaches. I don’t know Marist or Penn State but think the OP’s stats would make Marist almost an easy match.

Northeastern recalculates GPA using their own system of +.5 for an honors class and +1.0 for an AP class, so if you have a number of either, your GPA may be more competitive for admissions.

Have you looked at Stonehill College in MA? I was much more impressed than I had expected to be, and it would be an easy match also. Good luck to you!

UCONN School of Business
