I am wondering, do I need to apply as undergraduate or transfer when applying to other colleges. So far my stats are:
I've taken a total of 18 credit hours
I have taken:
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Probability and Statistics
Composition I
Composition II
Speech and Communications.

On my transcript on my college's website it says I am a freshman. On the Yale Website it says
"If by the end of the current academic year, you will have completed less than one year of full-time college study, you should apply through the freshman admissions process."

I remember my college advisor said that from this point I can only apply as a transfer student.

What position am I? Am I in the position to apply for undergraduate admission or transfer admission?

transfer .
and i guess for Yale you are a freshman

As I stated on your other thread, EACH college has their own definition of what qualifies as a fr or transfer applicant, there are NO generalities. For instance:

For Y & H you are not a transfer applicant until you have completed one full year of post-HS college:

[Harvard College Admissions § Applying: Transfer Program](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/apply/transfer/eligibility.html)

For GWU you are a transfer applicant after completing one post-HS college course:

[Transfer Admission - The George Washington University](http://www.gwu.edu/apply/undergraduateadmissions/applytogw/transferadmission)

Let me add something here, are you planning to attend college next year?

Because if so, I don’t believe you would then qualify as a fr admit for colleges like Y & H, because their “end of the current academic year” assumes the end of the year before you matriculate, not this year. So if you took a gap year and didn’t attend college next year, that would be within their definition of a fr applicant. But if you attend college next year, you will have 1.5 yrs of college by end of the year before you matriculate.

I am planning on attending college this fall, so I guess that means I am a transfer applicant.

If you have doubts, I’d recommend calling Y admissions and have them confirm.
