Undergraduate Psychology International Student

<p>Hey Guys,
I'm 17 years old, I'm from Greece and i'm currently at the end of the 11th grade.
I wanna study Psychology as an undergraduate student in US beggining the fall of 2012 and i want some recommendations about universities/colleges:
Just so you know, in Greece there is no such thing as AP Classes or Honor Courses
9th Grade GPA: 3.7
10th Grade GPA: 2.9-3.0
11th Grade GPA: i suppose it will be something like 3.3-3.4
12th Grade GPA: i'm going to aim for a perfect 4 but i dont think it counts at all
So all together divided by 3 , gives as a 3.3 GPA <----
I'm going to study the whole summer for the S.A.T. exams
and i'm aiming high. Dont imagine something like 2200+, but i can get a good enough grade.
I'm also going to take the TOEFL exam that is going to be way easier than SAT.
I play basketball and electric guitar for a couple of years and i go for mountain bikind ( i dont think it really counts tho)
and i have won a math competition back in 8th grade
Does International student's GPA count that much? or does SAT count alot more than GPA(international student-wise)
University/College pref: -standard 4-year academic programm
-Well....a good psychology programm
- To be a tier 1 university
-Being able to double major
-academic/carrer counselling
-I also want the university to be located somewhere with not always bad weather. I wont be able to stand Canada-like weather. But that doesnt mean that I absolutely want california weather 24/7, i just dont like the weather being too cold in all seasons
-Dont really care if its located in urban or rural area</p>

<p>Until now i have this list :
Franklin and Marshall College - Scientific and Philosophical Studies of the Mind Major
University of Massachusetts - Amhers -Psychology Major
Penn State University Park -Psychology Major
Indiana University Bloomington -Psychology Major</p>

<p>And i want you to tell me , with a nice SAT score do i have any chance in getting into
any of the following universities/colleges? -Any of the UC's
-UIllinois
-University of Rochester . NY
-Vanderbilt University (i suppose with a kickass SAT score i have some chances)<br>
-University of Wisconsin - Madison</p>

<p>Also, can you recommend me some other universities?
Thanks</p>

<p>If you haven’t already done so, you should make an appointment with the counselors at the EducationUSA advising center that is closest to you. There are two in Greece: [EducationUSA</a> - Find an Advising Center](<a href=“http://www.educationusa.info/Greece]EducationUSA”>http://www.educationusa.info/Greece) These counselors are expert at helping students from your country find good places to study in the US. If you can’t visit in person, they should be able to help you by phone or email.</p>

<p>You also need to know how much your family can afford to pay. The colleges and universities on your list will have Cost of Attendance (COA) between USD 35,000 and USD 55,000 each year. It is hard for international students to get scholarships, so you should be prepared to pay the full cost.</p>

<p>If you can pay the full COA, it will be a little bit harder for you to be admitted than it will be for a US applicant. If you can’t pay the full COA, it will be extremely hard for you to be admitted. Because international admissions is so different from admissions for US applicants, you probably should re-post your question in the International Students Forum. <p>Wishing you all the best!</p>

<p>Thanks for your quick answer, I’m sorry for that i posted it in the wrong section. I’m just kinda new here, I will definately get in touch with the advising center. Thanks!</p>
