Currently an undergraduate student with 15 credit hours and intend to transfer to a university next semester (Spring 2017). My first choice school to transfer to is the University of Houston, however I am eager to find out my chances of being accepted. I am eligible to apply as a transfer student as I have completed more than 15 credit hours. My current GPA is a 2.5 which is the minimum cumulative GPA that UH requires per its “Admissions Criteria” page for a student with 15-29 college credit hours. Although I meet the minimum requirement, does this mean I would be admitted? My second choice school, Texas Tech University, assures admission to those that have completed 12-23 hours with a 2.5 cumulative GPA, according to their “Undergraduate Admissions” page. I understand that these GPA requirements are for general admission and may differ depending on major choice, however I am ok with general admission and transferring to my preferred major, Finance, after another year.
Am I likely to be admitted to UH or would barely meeting the required minimum GPA lower my odds? Also, what school would you recommend for a perspective business student, Bauer College of Business at UH or Rawls College of Business at TTU?
Thanks.
