My son got a composite score of 34 but only got a 25 in the science portion - which put him in the 85th percentile for science the other three categories he was in the 99th percentile. He has taken the SAT's and got a 690 CR, 760 M, 750 W. He is planning on taking the SAT's again - but should he retake the ACT's? And if so, what do you suggest he do to bring up science score?

That’s not even possible. The highest you could get with a 25 is 33.

Yeah its impossible, your numbers are wrong

Impossible, maybe you need to take the ACT?

Sorry I misunderstood my son and now I saw written score report (as opposed to his reading me what he saw on the web site) Anyway, his composite score is a 32. His SAT scores are SAT scores of 760 M, 690 CR, and 750 W - I am wondering if he should concentrate on retaking ACT or just go with SAT scores (he does plan to retake SAT’s).

The question is retake for what? Both SAT and ACT are good enough for 99% or more of the colleges. So when considering retake you have to consider colleges he will be applying to. As to retaking ACT, be aware that science is one where many do not do so good first time and much better second after further prep. One of the reasons is that it is not what students initially expect it will be and repetition brings needed familiarity.
