So I'm trying to get this straight: if anyone could help me that would be great. I'm a junior right now but if I were to apply for Early Action at UChicago, I could also apply early decision at some other school right? And if I were accepted at Chicago, i wouldn't HAVE to accept right? Thanks, yo.

Under Chicago's rules, that's fine - but if you apply early decision somewhere else, they may or may not let you apply EA to Chicago. (It's still "early" even though it's not binding - read the other school's rules carefully).

Chicago's program is non-binding. It's just an earlier notification.

Chicago EA is non-binding; you can apply ED/EA to any other schools, presuming the other schools in question allow you to apply to Chicago (some will, and some won't). You find out mid-December whether you've been admitted, deferred to the RN pool, or outright rejected.

For an EA acceptance, the reply-by date to the offer of admission is May 1st, the National Reply Date, so no, you don't have to enroll early.
