<p>I think co-ops are nicer during the summer than the school year. Typically you get a single, no food plan, and reduced work hours.</p>
<p>You also get 0.75 of a BSC seniority point for living there during the summer. This can be useful if you want to live in the BSC during the academic year, since it can be difficult to get into the more desired houses during the academic year otherwise as a new member with 0 points.</p>
