The different buildings in Unit 3 have different reps, but wouldn't it change every year. Meaning couldn't the party kids be in spens-black one year and Norton the next, or is it NOT completely random?

You’re right. It definitely varies from year to year. It also varies within the building (some floors are quiet and some floors party a lot).

No, they secretly scan your application for any hints and subliminal messages that you are a partier, or antisocial, or crazy, and then sort you accordingly to your proper building. ;)

Singh2010 is right, it completely varies even from floor to floor within a building.

Okay thank god haha, I cordially invite all those kids braggin about being in spens-black to suck it

I didn’t even know the different buildings had different reputations?

I know the different units do…but specific buildings? Really?

That being said, as a former Norton resident, I will say that Norton was one giant party.

Go Norton! :)

Ida Sproul was pretty crazy for the 2 years I lived there! Unit 3 is awesome in general.

If you have athletes on your floor, its going to be a party floor. My freshman year, we had the water polo guys on our floor…they are crazy! Otherwise, its hit-or-miss. But I feel like most people “go out.” They may not hammered or go to frat parties, but most people want to be and are social. It’ll be crazy the first two weeks or so and then it will calm down.

Go Norton!

So many former Norton residents…I wonder if I know any of you. :P

I concur, Unit 3 is awesome. Most people I knew in Unit 3 were fun people, regardless of whether or not they were big partiers. :)

kinda random question, which unit 3 buildings on the higher floors will have views of the bay area/berkeley? Will it be all of them?

^Odd# rooms >floor 5 in ida have broad bay virews; the other buildings face inward so i’m not sure

^thats not right.

I was on third floor of ida on an even numbered floor and had a gorgeous bay view. Rooms numbers greater than 310 were on the bay side, should be the same for other floors.

Norton pride Despite the noise and everything, I had a good time living in Norton.

Apparently Unit 3 has a rep as somewhat as the “party unit”, but then again someone told me the same about Unit 1 (really??). Honestly though, it really varies between the buildings in Unit 3, and from floor to floor within those buildings. There really is no party building, and if one building happens to have more crazy people than another, it’s by chance. If you’re on a floor with a lounge, it’ll be noisier/more crazy because people will be hanging out there. For the most part though, I’ve found the people in Norton and Unit 3 in general to be pretty chill. I’m not a huge partyer and I had fun talking to and hanging out with the people on our floor who do party.

As for the view, on the top floors of Norton on one side, you have a gorgeous view of the bay.
