United World College of the Adriatic

Hey guys !

So I really want to apply for a United World College, and I've been hearing and reading a lot of things about these schools, but I'm not entirely sure if they are true or not.

My ideal UWC is the united world college of Adriatic in Italy (UWCAD), and LPC in Hong Kong, but I really don't know too much about these two schools. I have a few questions, and would really appreciate it if you guys can help me out !

1) I heard that the UWCAD is having financial problems? Is that affecting the students in anyway?

2) What is the college admission rate for the 2012-2013 academic year for both schools? (I'm Asian, obviously the most important thing to me would be whether if I can get in a good university or not)

3) I want to study psychology, which UWC would benefit me most in terms of that? (Any UWC not necessarily LPC and UWCAD)

4) UWCAD has an excellent music program? What if I'm not interested in music? Will they take students who excels in music into consideration first?

5) Which UWC exactly, is the best one? A lot of people are saying you can't judge these schools like that bla bla, but I really want to know which UWC is the best, so is there some sort of ranking between the UWCs? If there is, I would really like to know about it

6) Not being judgemental or anything, but this kid at my school who literally flunk all his subjects got into an UWC (not sure which one), where another girl at my school who the rest of us all admire is on the waiting list for LPC. Does this mean that the UWC doesn't really take grades/academic achievements into consideration?

7) Is there actually a minimum grade requirement in order to get into a UWC? (I study in an IB school, and I'm currently on my last year of MYP so I'll be studying DP anyway even if I don't get into a UWC)

8) The college website states that ALL students in UWCAD MUST study Italian? But what if I'm not choosing Italian as my language options? Does that mean I need to study 7 subjects?

9) Is the chinese department in UWCAD good? Cause mandarin is my first language, and it would kill me if I can't study chinese and get good grades from that just because I'm in a foreign country

10) Last but not least, if you are a student studying in UWCAD or LPC, and is willing to give me extra information regarding this, please private message me or something :)

Thank you so much!

These are actually high school programs, not undergraduate colleges, correct? If you don’t get any response here, which is a forum dedicated to undergraduate colleges, perhaps you should post on the prep school, IB, or or international forum.
