Hi,
Does anyone have any feedback about UNR?
I will be studying Mechanical Engineering.

I get mostly A's, and could possibly go to a higher ranked school, but I also do snowboard racing at Lake Tahoe (BoarderX, GS) and I want to continue that. So, UNR would work well.

I know it's not a big name school, but if the classes are good, I'll get a good education, and could possibly go to a big name school for a Master's.

Do students like UNR? How are the professors? Any feedback?

I think the state of Nevada has a terrible educational system, and I would leave there for college if at all possible. Unless you really want to make this decision based on snowboarding, I would look elsewhere. I don’t think UNR or UNLV are good choices unless financial reasons mandate attending. What about Colorado? You could certainly snowboard race around there?

UNR probably isn’t as bad as most people here will tell you, but it isn’t exactly MIT. Making matters worse, the state of Nevada is in a budgetary crisis and has been handing down horrendous cuts to its universities.

Why don’t you consider the University of Utah? There are some pretty good slopes near SLC and the school is far better.
