I'm a junior in high school reviewing University of Michigan- Ann Arbor Summer Science Academy. I find it interesting though would like to know if anyone could tell me more information about it from experience, told, etc....

are you talking about MMSS- Michigan Math and Science Scholars?

No, I don't think so.

I went to it about 4 years ago. It's a summer camp where you are introduced into the major health professions, ie MD, nursing, research. You go to a lot of lectures from presenters in the topic and also try some group activities and games. You stay in Markley hall, and the counselors are either premed undergrads or medical students here, and they definitely like to have as much fun as you. Over the weekend, we went to Cedar Point and shopping in Ann Arbor. Also, if you go to this program, you are exclusively eligible to apply to MedSOAR, Medical Summer Opportunities and Apprenticeships in Research, so it's definitely worth it, and I would suggest going to SSA.

Oh I wanted to apply to this too!
Except it's kind of expensive I think like 1500 dollars.
And my parents aren't doing very well with their business so I don't know if I would be able to apply.
But do you know if they have any financial help??

Thanks for the replies, I'm sure attending this program would have been nice. Though I no longer will try to do so... due to size of program, and a 10th grader in my class stated that he was attending the program this summer as well. I doubt they will accept multiple students from a high school, so I may look else where.

They do accept multiple students from the same school. There were multiple kids from detroit country day (~5) during my summer session.
