Universities you turned down to attend Florida State

Because EVERYBODY gets in at UF. They just mail all the hs seniors an admissions ticket and a welcome packet.

Seriously, we had the option and elected Florida State. UF would maybe have been fine, I’m sure.

<a href=“St. Petersburg Times - Google News Archive Search”>St. Petersburg Times - Google News Archive Search;

^This article describes what it was like when we rejected UF in favor of Florida State. Of course, by '82 I had already graduated from FSU.

^ well that’s great that you guys had the option and chose otherwise. Some parents kind of force or assume that their children want to go to the university they went to.

Of course – he wanted to ensure he remained the smartest in the family. :D

fau, unf, and ucf

@parents2noles - EVERYONE GETS IN AT UF?!??!!?!? LMAOOOOOO biggest CC fail i’ve seen yet! everyone gets in at FSU!

The joke at FSU in the 1970s was:

Q: What do all FSU students have in common?

A: They all got in at UF.

See the article.

Was this completely true? No. But it had an element of truth, and that’s why it was mildly amusing. We called it “Gigging the gators”.

Need another timeless rivalry joke?

Florida State University is THE University of Florida!

Are you still telling 40 year old jokes??? Gotta get with the times my friend! ;)

Times change. Bubbles burst. What was old, becomes new again. ;)

From FSU website:
The academic profile of the middle 50 percent of freshmen accepted in 2010 was: 3.5-4.1 academic GPA; 25-29 ACT composite; 1720-1940 SAT total.

From UF website:
Middle 50% of the Class
High School GPA of 4.0 - 4.4
SAT of 1820-2060
ACT of 27 - 31

it is quite obvious that UF is more selective than FSU. in fact i’ve never met anyone who has gotten rejected from FSU, lol.

This thread shows a number of current and former FSU students who rejected UF.

Let’s see…UF fans (pretty sure GFG is a UF grad, however - with all due respect) are posting in this thread almost at the same rate as the FSU grads and students.

Wonder what that means?

I can now say I turned down F.I.U and UF

My DS was admitted to UF today. Of his final three- Clemson, FSU, UF- Clemson & FSU are tied for #1, UF is third.
